BOTOX
Wrinkles are an inevitable and unwelcome part of aging that affects all of us.
Wrinkles and fine lines on the face are formed due to repeated muscle movements, which are often utilized in facial expressions such as smiling and furrowing the brow. As we age, these lines only become deeper and more defined. This is due to our skin losing collagen, which reduces its volume and elasticity. We specialize in natural-looking, cosmetic enhancements that rejuvenate and highlight inner beauty.
What is Botox Cosmetic?
Botox Cosmetic contains tiny amounts of a highly purified botulinum toxin protein refined from the bacterium, Clostridium botulinum.
Botox and Dysport work by being injected in to the muscle that creates the wrinkle and causes temporary paralysis of the muscle. When the muscle is paralyzed, it cannot contract and the wrinkle relaxes. Most people will not be able to tell you have had any procedure done and will be wondering how you look so refreshed and well rested! These results will last around 3-6 months, depending on the injection and how long it takes an individual’s body to break down the toxin. Time between treatments can increase with the more injections you receive, as the muscle “learns” how to behave.
The best wrinkle treatment for you will depend on your personal needs. Your doctor will examine your face, your muscle movement and lines. We’ll ask you questions about your health and your beauty goals. After explaining all considerations and risks for treatment, you may choose to proceed with a cosmetic injection.
BOTOX® TREATMENT AREAS
Botox Cosmetic® is FDA-approved for use by men and women aged 18 to 65 years, to treat the following “trouble spots”:
Wrinkles near the eyes, also called “crow’s feet”
Wrinkles near the nose, also called “bunny lines
Correction of gummy smile
Platysma bands, or wrinkles across the neck
Glabellar lines, or wrinkles between the eyebrows
Wrinkles around the mouth, sometimes called “smokers’ lines (though you need not smoke to develop these!)
Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating from the underarms, hands and/or feet
The effects of cosmetic injection will generally last from three to four months. As muscle action gradually returns, the line and wrinkles will begin to slowly reappear so planning to repeat treatment every 4-6 months is often recommended. Regular maintenance treatments can mean that over time you require less product to maintain your desired look. Different products have specific considerations that your doctor will explain to you.
⦁ Low risk, minimal side effects, and a wide variation of candidates
⦁ Quick appointments—the injections themselves take only minutes, and results are visible within as little as 2-5 days. They are non-surgical treatments—less pain and less invasive
⦁ No downtime required—you can go right back to work after an appointment
⦁ Natural-looking appearance—treatment can be done all at once or can be done gradually over a few appointments to ensure you are comfortable with your results
A good candidate for wrinkle treatment is someone who is not pregnant or nursing and is in good health. Allergic reactions are rare, however, previous allergic reactions to any neuromodulator treatment will likely mean avoiding any brands and formulations of botulinum toxin types. Men and women alike choose to smooth away angry and tired looking facial lines. If you have noticed wrinkles on your forehead, the appearance of crow’s feet or other facial lines, you could be a great candidate for wrinkle treatments.
